Overhead Gantry Crane

A pendant controlled overhead crane is a special machine that is used to lift things. Such a crane normally runs on tracks high above the ground and its lifting power is generated by an electrical motor that winds cable onto a drum that lifts the load.

Cranes like these can be either top running, under running, single or double-girder.

The job of operating a pendant controlled overhead crane comes with great responsibility and it is therefore imperative that the operator is trained for efficacy and safety.

This overhead crane training course will span over 9 modules that will deal with topics like components, operational checks, operating the crane, lifting and handling goods, and safety rules.

We will also be looking at the various aspects of maintenance of the wire ropes and sheaves.
